How do I use the Qibla direction tool?

Save your location in prayer settings, then open the Qibla tool. It shows a bearing measured clockwise from true north. The arrow is a diagram; it does not track the direction your phone is facing.

Read the bearing

  1. Choose a city or enter accurate coordinates in prayer settings.
  2. Open the Qibla tool and check the displayed location.
  3. Find true north using a reliable map or a compass with an appropriate true-north setting.
  4. Read the displayed angle clockwise from true north.

Why does the arrow stay still when I turn the phone?

The website does not request motion sensors or use the camera. Its arrow shows the calculated bearing on a north-up diagram. Rotating your phone does not rotate the calculation relative to the real world.

What affects the result?

The calculation depends on your coordinates. Magnetic north can differ from true north, and a phone compass can be disturbed by nearby metal or electronics. The tool uses Adhan’s great-circle bearing calculation. For a fixed prayer space, verify the direction with a reliable local reference.
