How your location, saved verses, reflections and preferences are handled in this release.
Your device holds your progress
Bookmarks, reflections, reading position, reading plans, completed learning steps, dhikr count, prayer settings and colour preference are stored in this browser’s local storage. They are not uploaded to a MyDeenPath account and do not sync between devices. Other people using the same browser profile may be able to see them.
Location is your choice
The browser is asked for location only when you press the location button. You can choose a city or enter coordinates instead. Prayer and Qibla calculations happen on the device. Coordinates are stored locally only after you save the settings.
Search and forms
The search index is downloaded once and queries are processed in the browser. Queries appear in the address bar, so they may be retained in browser history or web-server access logs. Zakat inputs are not saved. Correction reports are downloaded as files and are not submitted to a server.
No tracking or advertising cookies
This release includes no analytics service, advertising scripts or tracking cookies. Fonts are self-hosted. Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. It processes network request information, including IP addresses and requested URLs, to provide and protect the service under its privacy policy. MyDeenPath does not upload your saved notes, reading progress or location settings.
Hosting privacy
Cloudflare describes its data handling and retention in its own privacy policy. We do not promise that delivery of a web page leaves no server records.
Export or remove your information
My Path lets you export local data as JSON, restore a validated backup by merging it on this device, and delete MyDeenPath local storage after confirmation. Backup files are processed locally and are not uploaded. Clearing browser data also removes it. An exported file may contain personal reflections; keep it somewhere private.
Offline library
Downloading the offline library stores public Quran pages, source notices, fonts and tools in this browser’s Cache Storage. Source files are checked against build hashes before saving. Downloads and later library updates use your connection. Use Remove offline downloads in My Path to remove the downloaded library while keeping your notes and progress. Browser storage limits or clearing site data may also remove these files.
External websites
Following a source or listening link opens a third-party website with its own privacy practices. We do not send your private notes or saved progress with those links.
